Proper Festival
The PROPER Festival is a family-friendly multicultural event that’s all about “Uniting Community across All Lines.”
This year, we are having a Kids’ PROPER for the first time on July 25 at McCoy Park featuring a 3-Point Basketball competition, Live Art, B-Town Kids, a variety of activities with Bridgetown Ministries and Celebration Tabernacle, and hotdogs for the kids! If you have a kids focused and friendly booth, please contact Pastor Humber at 971-404-4344. There is no fee but you must pre-register and provide your own equipment (table, chair, etc.).
Our August 29th PROPER event will be at Kenton Park. Come and enjoy various styles of stage entertainment by local artists, vendor and community information booths, engaging activities, and good eats (free, meat & vegetarian friendly). Special Guests: E.D. Mondaine & Beliefe; College Hill, GA 2008 Poetry Slam winner, Kameelah; Michael Allen Harrison.
In brief, PROPER, has worked with various neighborhoods for the last 15 years to promote community (Previous parks: Woodlawn, Dawson, Patton, Pioneer Courthouse Square, Unthank, Kaiser, N Kilpatrick Street Block Party, Kenton, McCoy).
Last year was our third annual with Clay Park in St Louis Missouri (around 700 folk), our 1st annual with McCoy Park in New Columbia, featuring the Basketball Tournament (being the day after July 4th, a surprising 400 plus folk), and our 9th annual with Kenton Park, featuring the Bike & Car Show (est 1,000 folk).

The “People” in P.R.O.P.E.R.’s acronym/mission is only right when you come, really. We hope you join us this year in some capacity.
