Proper at McCoy Park - July 25

July 16th, 2009

Saturday July 25th, 12 noon to 4:00 PM at McCoy Park

This is our first PROPER with a kids (and parents) focus. We will feature a 3-point basketball competition in connection with the Boys and Girls Club. We also have various children’s activities and puppet show with B-Town Kids. Food for FREE: hotdogs, chips, and watermelon are the expected menu. And LIVE ART! Kids will get a chance to paint doors and T-shirts!

With all PROPER events, we will have music stage performances by local artists and community information booths. Join us for a “Uniting Community Across All Lines” event.

PROPER’s summer events are an extension of the networking and free dinners during the holidays (always meat and vegetarian friendly).

Proper at Kenton Park - August 29th

July 16th, 2009

Saturday, August 29, 12 - 4:00 PM at Kenton Park

FREE FOOD, MUSIC, COMMUNITY– this is PROPER’s 16th Annual PROPER Festival (10th Annual at Kenton Park): all ages multicultural entertainment, live art, engaging activities, prizes, PROPER’s popular networking & free picnic food booths- meat and vegetarian friendly, and the 2nd annual Bike & Car Show.  Special Guests: E.D. Mondainé & Belief; College Park, Georgia’s 2008 slam poet winner, Kameelah; and Michael Allen Harrison.

Must we define a “Bike & Car Show?” Nowadays with the sounds of sustainability all around us, even a “bike and car show” is calling to be recycled, renewed.  And of course, we can’t resist to do it Proper style, traditional and alternative must meet and unite- a freak bike being seen together with a classic car, young with old, what? This is PROPER’s second year of showing “modes of transportation” amidst its other festivities–it can be a beautiful thing, BUT, is it the right time? Let the participants work it out and process the change.  Let the people dialogue and let them vote.

A “Uniting Community Across All Lines” Event. We hope you join in some capacity.
